Sally Stockwell has graced our country's stages screens for over a decade. What many people don't know is that Sally is also an accomplished singer and songwriter, often performing an eclectic mix of self penned originals.

‘The breakthrough moments are amazing destinations, but it was the underlying current of melancholy and longing in the compositions that had me hooked...'I can't wait to experience these songs live. I certainly recommend you give this a listen'' Lisa Tagaloa- NZ Musician

'She proves a thoroughly engaging artist with the spirit of a genuine songwriter, an astute eye for telling detail and a lyrical vocabulary deeper than most.' Graham Reid -  Elsewhere.co.nz

'Sally Stockwell’s voice is flat-out incredible...the music is dark yet gorgeous...' Lumiere

‘Sally Stockwell takes the lead vocal with a voice of mercury and a glow of kauri gum…’ Theatre view

The Album

'Weightless' is a collection of songs that focuses on the weight and weightlessness of life. Stockwell leans towards songs that reflect her inner creative process - exploring light and dark and celebrating the spirit of transformation.

During the writing process, the album took an unexpected turn with the tragic death of her brother, Ben Stockwell (also musician and music producer). In the wake of this, new songs emerged including the tribute track "Weightless' (and album's namesake) which is dedicated to Ben.

Her earthy songs and poetry are sure to infect the soul, combining fluid vocals that invite you to de-code her lyrics and enter into her world.

The album also sits alongside Sally’s critically acclaimed musical theatre show ‘Gravity Hotel’ (2013). Read more here.
